Hydro-Excavation
Hydro-excavating
is a non-destructive method of excavating which replaces conventional
backhoe and digging techniques.
Hydro-excavating uses
pressurized water to stir up soil. At the same time, a high pressure
vacuum is used to remove the soil, leaving a clean hole around which work
can be safely performed.
Applications
Hydro-excavation
examples include the following:
-
Exposing
underground utilities for servicing and repairs.
-
Digging
telephone pole holes.
-
Creating
trenches for geo-thermal installation.
-
Removing
tree stumps.
-
Excavating
soil for pool installation.
-
Excavating
in frozen ground.
-
Excavating
landscaped property.
-
Excavating
remote or hard to reach areas.

Advantages
of Hydro-Excavation
The
many advantages of using water as your digging tool include:
-
Damage
to area surrounding the excavation zone is minimized.
-
The
potential for damage to underground infrastructure is reduced.
-
Water
acts as its own lubricant.
-
Water
controls static electricity.
-
Water
is heated for frozen ground excavation.
-
Water
prevents the sandblasting effect of air.
-
Water
is far more productive, especially in tough soils.
-
Water
works in almost all soil conditions.
